Removing paint from wood with laser cleaning

If you work in restoration, you know the challenge: wooden frames from historic windows, decorative mouldings, ornaments and more often need to be stripped of paint. With laser cleaning, you can remove paint from wood faster and more easily than with traditional manual methods. Even wood with multiple layers of paint can be treated step by step – without water that could cause swelling, and without abrasives that might leave fine scratches. Thanks to integrated cooling, the wood remains unaffected and is ready for restoration immediately after treatment. The biggest advantage, aside from preserving the wood itself, is the time saved – for example, you can complete paint removal from wood window frames in at least half the time compared to typical manual work.

Restoring wood: best done with laser cleaning

It’s simple: we adjust the laser’s energy to match the required heat sensitivity and determine the optimal working speed for the surface. Then the paint (with the sole exception of shellac) can be removed layer by layer. By the end, historic window frames, door frames, wooden ornaments or decorative mouldings are ready for restoration immediately – with none of the usual waiting times.

Depending on its configuration, the laser has a different depth of field, allowing it to clean irregular surfaces evenly. If the surface texture exceeds the depth of field, this can be compensated by guiding the laser head accordingly, ensuring the cleaning process remains effective.
