GL Top Hat Pulslaser

Our Top Hat pulse laser cleaning machine expands the possibilities of laser cleaning for new applications. Unlike a standard focused laser beam, the Top Hat distributes laser energy evenly over a larger surface area. This makes it ideal for non-invasive work – such as industrial mould cleaning or the cleaning of machinery parts, tools and engines. It’s also an excellent choice for restoration work, where gentle, scratch-free results are essential. As an alternative to dry ice blasting, ultrasonic baths, walnut shell sandblasting or chemical cleaning, the Top Hat pulse laser offers an effective, modern solution. Machines, tools or engine blocks don’t need to be dismantled, and downtime is kept to a minimum.

Laser cleaning for larger surfaces

Instead of the concentrated beam used in standard pulse lasers, the Top Hat pulse laser applies a softer, non-invasive technique. Think of it as the rubber mallet compared to the metal hammer (Gaussian pulse laser) – you get a larger contact area and more even energy distribution. This approach makes it possible to work on sensitive items like tools, moulds or sandstone without scratches. Injection moulds with good accessibility can be cleaned without dismantling, while downtime is minimised – making it an excellent choice for laser tool cleaning and precision work.
